COMPANION CONSTANT

Your love has always been
My companion constant
Through the darkest hours
It has sustained me
Through the brightest hours
I have celebrated it
This love-enchanting,tantalising
Has been my protective hood
Like the mountains capped by snow
It has always adorned my heart
Bathing me in its fervour,
Filling me with joy,
Lighting up my world.
And so, with a thankful heart
I rest my soul forever in your lap

RED CARNATIONS

On a very bright morn,

When i was feeling forlorn

Unheralded, they arrived

With love's depth mirrored

For a lonely heart in wait

A gift that seemed so right

Bridging a million miles

Lit up my face in smiles

Carnations with red petals

Had love hidden in sepals...

THE JOURNEY

As we journey under the scorching sun
Life at times takes an unexpected turn
What mattered yesterday, doesnt anymore
Waves ever new...on the mind's shore
We may conciously detour or miss a turn
Wonder later if the move was a wise one
Sometimes its pain, sometimes its fun
Outcomes of an action, knows none

We gamble; then pray with all our might
That all the decisions somehow turn right
It'd be scarier to find ourselves all alone
None around to hear us scream or moan
All we ever need is a loved one near
To hold the hand and still a fear
To share events of joy; to celebrate
Down the years, a bond to commemorate

LOVE HEALS ...

It is a time of not knowing

Answers that the soul is seeking

A word said, perhaps, too early

May now cost a relationship dearly

Was this calculated move prudent?

Did it abort something God sent?

Questions that would forever haunt

Filling the heart with immense daunt

Maybe, a benign pause, is the need

To clear the mind and then proceed

Who knows what tomorrow will reveal

For, love in the hearts - it will always heal

THE CAPTURE

THE Dark, searching eyes

They intensely gaze

Into another pair

Never they despair

Hoping to find

A soul very fine

They try to assess

Want to possess

Without an eyelid batting

Seek love lasting

Await a message, saying-

Heart I give for keeping

Amused eyes colored tan

Say, ‘catch me if you can’

Dark eyes in reply beam

Love in unbroken stream

Tan eyes accede defeat

Capturing foe in heart’s beat.

THE EYES THAT CAPTURE...

Untold histories, unseen mysteries

Of people, animals, insects, trees

Lay open to the eyes that capture

Things that set the heart on rapture

Tearing apart the fabric of Time

Gifting gems from the earthy slime

Only to the soul that dares to see

What lies beyond you and me

FAREWELL

Three fine summers I’ve spent with you

But I still don’t seem to understand you

Though many a time you’ve said, ‘I love you’

The ring of your tone has never felt true

In defence, you blamed me and I blamed you

Had to deal with guilt, shame, broken dreams too

We know we are ships –to different ports sailing thru

Lets end this turmoil build relationships new

These lines shall be my farewell tribute to you

TIME

O …time,

If you ever will
To stand forever still
If you ever decide
To step forever aside
I would rainbow ride
In eternity reside
Do all things magical
Visit all places mystical
Capture nature’s beauty
In the mind’s eye
And fill my heart
With infinite joy.

YOU AND I

I really wish that you and I

Would learn to see eye to eye

On many unresolved issues

Without drying eyes with tissues

I want to head north

But u want to go south

Arguments flying forth

from mouth to mouth

I want to slow the pace

U want to end the race

will we ever see eye to eye

on many issues, you and I?

THE FIGHT

Fires may rage and refuse to cease;

Clouds may pour in a furious tease

Against harsh elements of nature

In my womb, a seed I nurture

Cradling in my arms tomorrow's light

I'll hold on till the end of fight
